Hi everyone!
Hi Everyone! Donna Druchunas here. I’ll be hanging around a bit helping Cheryl out with the launch of the Potluck Yarn trilogy. I couldn’t be more excited, especially since I just finished reading a draft of the first book in this series about The Knitting Witches: Tales of the Twelve. While Cheryl is working on the final edits of the book, I’ll be lining up an illustrator and book designer to turn her fabulously fun story into a book that you can hold in your hands (or load onto your Kindle or iPhone). We’re also working on updating this website with lots of knitting and fantasy goodies, and finding fun ways to get the word out about this journey into cross-genre territory.
As an avid knitter and reader, I’m thrilled to see behind the scenes of some of the new experimental books knitting authors and designers are working on that blend literature and knitting smoothly together. The knitting world is so rich and full of inspiration, creativity, and humanity, that I believe it is full of the power needed to change our world for the better. And The Twelve agree with me. I’m hopeful that Cheryl’s books, as well as some others that are in the works, will help move knitting literature into the mainstream, the way books by authors like Anthony Bourdain have moved food writing into the mainstream.
I hope you’ll check back regularly to get updates on Cheryl’s progress with writing and some sneak peeks into the illustration and book design process. As much as we have fun writing, designing, knitting, and creating books, the ultimate result is all about giving YOU something to feed your curiosity and creativity.
Thanks for checking in and we’ll talk more soon!
Donna D
