Supersock Design Contest
Testimonial

Hi Cheryl,

Thank you for sponsoring the design contest for the semi-solid sock yarn. I have a project that I plan to mail later this week. It is my very first design "from scratch" and I have learned a lot in the process. In the past I have always sought out patterns close to what I wanted and then made adjustments. The contest has pushed me to realize that I can work out my own designs without starting from another pattern. Once I bought the yarn and started sketching I felt like I was back in school again -- staying up into the wee hours of the morning surrounded with books on sweater design, using a calculator and graph paper for the first time since I can remember, knitting the yarn up into every kind of gauge and stitch swatch imaginable -- It was pure fun! And now I feel like I have been through a hands-on semester of "Knitwear Design 101." So regardless of what happens with my entry the sweater contest has been a great experience for me. I have already started sketching several new designs for my next projects.

Thanks for the push!
